Writing the Walls

‘Writing the Walls’, now 20 years old, began in 2005 when Artistic Director Mara Mills, Studio Theater in Exile, and Livia Straus, co-founder Hudson Valley MOCA, decided to integrate visual arts by reaching the community to contribute original works reflective of their interaction with art in the exhibit. This year, Writing the Walls: REFLECTIONS will be based on two exhibitions, “Psychological Portraits” (in Main Gallery) and the 2025 juried show, “So, You Think I’m too Old to…” (Upstairs Gallery) at HVMOCA.

Writing the Walls: WAR

February 15–April 10, 2024

Writing the Walls 2024 will build on the Theme 'WAR', with writers and composers asked to create works that are inspired by the visuals to be selected based on an open call for the Juried exhibition 'WAR'.
